Who needs an audit?

Under the Companies Act 2016, companies must have their annual financial statements audited by an approved company auditor, unless they qualify for SSM’s audit exemption for dormant, zero-revenue or threshold-qualified private companies. We will confirm whether an exemption applies to you.

ROO Collective prepares your company for audit and works alongside the approved auditor you appoint; we can introduce you to independent audit firms if you need one.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sign audit reports?

No. Statutory audit opinions are issued by an approved company auditor who must be independent of the company’s accountants. We prepare you for the audit and coordinate with your auditor.

Can my company be exempt from audit?

Some private companies qualify for SSM’s audit exemption based on dormancy, revenue, total assets and employee thresholds. We review your figures against the current criteria.
